Costumes, Makeup & Props

For our main protagonist's costume, we needed to create the social realism aspect, whilst conforming to the school uniform regulations (that we believe would be in place) and the effect of her Asperger's on her style. Below is a collection of all the costumes she uses:

The character uses the darker tones for school environment to show her depressed and isolated mood, also this conformed to the darker tone of the social realism genre. However, we changed her costume to brighter colours later in the trailer to show her escape in the painting, shown through colours and also her choice in colour develops as her relationship with the male protagonists develops. This change in colour also corresponds to a person suffering with Asperger's syndrome choice in clothes. 

 
Aimee did little make up, which helped to make it look more realistic and the lack of makeup and editing made sure that her face looked darker and sadder, reinforcing he feelings. We sued lighting more than makeup to achieve these effects.

 
For our male protagonist, we wanted to make his costume duller compared to the girl, also conforming to what we would expect the school's regulations to be - therefore making his costume very dull colours:

Props

With art being a key feature of our trailer, most our props were art related. We borrowed an easel from our school art department for our protagonist to paint on, created our own acrylic paintings, based on polygonal artwork found on the internet, created drawings for her to create and supplied her art room with the necessary art supplies.
