Initial Planning
Genre - Social Realism
Narrative - A man
(40s-50s) with OCD is struggling through life and he is very isolated. A
younger woman (20s-30s) interrupts his daily routine and they start a
friendship. She discovers he is a writer and encourages his writing, which
helps his OCD to become less severe. He sends off to publishers and gets a
rejection letter, which causes his illness to become more severe but she helps
him through this. She then gets a partner/boyfriend and they end up moving away,
leaving the man alone again on his own where he relapses into his severe form
of OCD. He then gets a message/postcard from the woman and he is spurred on to
writing again, he sends it to a publisher. The book is published and the woman
shows up at the man's house with a copy for him to sign.
Ideas for filming -
- The shots at the beginning are like the Groundhog Day to reiterate the idea of his un broken routine
- Use a number that is present in almost every shot - OCD is based around numbers- 5
- Use Aimee's house
